Following the Son of Man from the Cross to Eternity
This is more of literal understanding of prophecy and is characterised by: the Son of Man, Jesus, comes on the clouds, after great tribulation.
He will send His angels to gather His elect and they become Immortal and Incorruptible.
The Messiah judges the wicked and first establishes His Kingdom on Earth from Jerusalem. He reigns for 1,000 years with the elect and more and more nations join the commonwealth of Israel.
The whole earth becomes more prosperous and safe as people follow God’s ways.
At the end of the 1,000 years all the wicked are consumed and the Righteous go on to live in the renewed Heaven and Earth forever and ever.

Conclusions
- The objective of the above is to provide a framework which helps you assess other scriptures. However, it may or may not be the whole truth. There are well researched alternatives. So what is the point of trying to understand it?
- One reason is that Jesus warns about deception and tribulation – the only way is to be prepared by knowing the truth and you will find that when you study the bible.
- Another reason is that the bible teaches that we are to store up our treasures; we will be rewarded according to our works. However, be sure that Jesus knows you by having faith in what His Father is going to do by sending His Son back so that we may have eternal life in all it’s fullness.
Be Prepared. Be Ready.
Thoughts to Ponder
- You won’t know the day or the hour but you can know the seasons and the times – but only if you are aware of the signs and are watching.
- You may or may not be raptured before the great tribulation but be prepared that you are not deceived.
- Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To God our Saviour, who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty, dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen.
